Code of conduct

ERPA Code of Conduct

ERPA members and supporting members are committed to respect the European Legislative framework and maintain high ethical standards in their activities.  To this purpose, the following Code of Conduct has been established and is accepted by all ERPA members and supporting members.

By joining ERPA, a member/supportive member undertakes to:

  • Be responsive to the National Competent Authorities and European Commission enquires.
  • Provide competent professional services according to their legal obligations.
  • Be incorporated as a legal person and assume all the legal responsibilities that this entails.
  • Employ adequate and competent staff with expertise and knowledge of European legal and regulatory requirements concerning cosmetics.
  • Seek and follow education in areas relevant to their activity as well as maintain awareness of relevant developments.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest of a business or financial nature.
  • Contract for sufficient liability insurance pertaining to their activities.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality considering the other stakeholders’ obligations as per the law.
  • Avoid any actual or potential regulatory and legal violations that may result from their activities or plans.

Additionally, all members will jointly:

  • Present themselves firstly as ERPA representative in official meetings representing ERPA.
  • Contribute to the development of ERPA’s image.
